I thought I was getting a watch with the option to wear a strap or not. Having said that, I have used this watch once so far & it was easy to use. I like the look of it & even though it says it is the thinnest out there, it is still a little bulky for me. I had to be careful with my sleeves because it kept setting off the watch to check my heart rate. This watch did exactly what I wanted it to, which was to check my heart rate throughout my workout & know how many calories I'd burned. It does say in the instructions that the more often you check your HR, the more accurate the calorie count would be. I'd like to use a chest strap just so I wouldn't have to constatly stop to check it. Luckily, in boot camp class you have the opportunity to take a few seconds and do that. The design is cute, and I'm pleased to wear it unlike an old Garmin which is a huge block on my wrist. The strap is soft and non- irritating even when I'm all sweaty. It gives me an accurate heart rate. You simply touch the rim around the clock's face, and in a couple of seconds you know your pulse. I like that it toggles between calories burned and duration. At first, it's a little annoying during a run as you have to place your hands in front of you and keep your finger on it...but you quickly adjust. The reason I didn't give this five stars is because I still can't figure out how to set the time and date...it doesn't seem intuitive. I'll admit, however, that I am technologically challenged, and therefore a more savvy person can most likely get it working.Edit: Ok. I figured out how to set the date and time.
