Don't waste your money!, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Altus Athletic Fit Hoop (Sports) I was so excited to try this hoop as a new and fun ab workout, as it was at a reasonable price and seemed reliable. The first time I tried it (after assembly), it fell apart on the first spin around my waist. I thought that I had assembled it wrong, so I took it apart and re-assembled it, just to have it happen once again. This went on multiple times until I finally just quit and decided to return it. I was EXTREMELY dissapointed in this product, and I would not recommended wasting your money on this piece of junk. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful  Spend Your Money Elsewhere, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Altus Athletic Fit Hoop (Sports) I purchased this hula hoop to tone my abs and was pleased with the results after about 1-2 weeks of use. One of the segments cracked after about 1-2 weeks of use, which I attributed to carelessness on my part. I ended up purchasing another, but it started cracking again after a day of use. After analyzing the segments to try to replace the cracked ones with uncracked ones from my first hula hoop, I noticed that each segment is comprised of two pieces of plastic that are glued together. This makes it significantly less durable than if it were one seamless piece, as the glue wears away and the pieces start to come apart with the impact of hooping. To be fair, it was dropped a couple of times which may have led to it cracking sooner rather than later, but even if you were extremely careful and never let your hoop hit the ground (which is pretty unlikely), I think the glue would still wear away with use and lead to cracking. I'm 59 years old and my knees can't take the pounding of running anymore so this is a perfect alternative with no stress on my knees or ankles. My side was a bit sore at first but that has passed. I would highly recommend the fitness hoop. |
